What type of Pregnant Mama are you? Do you feel like your sexiest self? Do you love the bumps, kicks, and transformation? Or do you just hate the entire process? Maybe you have HCG or are extra tired and just can’t wait for it to be over. Or maybe you have BOTH days in your pregnancy. Whatever you are experiencing, there is no question about it – pregnancy is a beautiful and transformative phase. And, whether or not you feel the best or the worst, it doesn’t last and I will always advocate for you to COMMEMORATE these moments. EVEN if you don’t feel like it right now. Future you will want these images. Future you will thank you from the bottom of her Mama heart.
But what if you don’t know how to pose? What if you just feel like a whale instead of a goddess? I gotchu! And, with any experienced photographer, you will never be alone. You will be guided you through a variety of poses that showcase your baby bump in the most flattering and artistic ways possible. Whether you’re a first-time mom or already have children, there are some pregnancy photoshoot poses can allow you to express your unique style and personality while celebrating this extraordinary time in your life, AND looking amazing! Here are some of my favorite poses to help you highlight your bump and feel absolutely gorgeous on camera.
Place your hands gently on your belly, cradling your baby bump with love. I literally tell you to “hug your bump”. It highlights the connection between you and your little one, showcasing the bond you share.
Stand sideways to the camera, allowing your baby bump to create a beautiful silhouette. This pose emphasizes the shape of your belly while adding an artistic and elegant touch to the image. You will probably see MANY variations and angles of this pose in your final gallery.
Lie on a comfortable surface, such as a bed or a blanket, and let your baby bump take center stage. This pose is perfect for capturing a relaxed and serene moment, showing the beauty of your pregnancy in a natural and effortless way.
Kneel down and then lean back so your hips are resting comfortably on your ankles. You can cradle your bump by putting one hand above and one had below the bump. Then you can look down at your precious baby or look over your shoulder. This allows for some creative angles to be taken by your photographer.
Involving your partner or other family members in your pregnancy photoshoot can add an extra layer of love and connection to the images. It’s an opportunity to celebrate the journey together and create beautiful memories as a family.
Have your partner wrap their arms around you from behind, gently resting their hands on your belly. Your partner and you can kiss, or your partner can kiss your head or temple. Or you can make it slightly more editorial by both of ya’ll looking off in different directions. Lots of variations can be achieved within this pose.
Capture a tender and intimate moment by having your partner kiss your baby bump. This pose showcases the bond between your partner and the baby, creating a heartwarming and affectionate image.
Gather your children, if you have any, and create a circle around your baby bump. Then everyone gets to hug on Mama and baby all at the same time. This pose represents the unity and excitement of the entire family as they eagerly await the arrival of the newest member.
Incorporating your loved ones into the poses within your pregnancy photoshoot not only adds depth and meaning to the images but also helps create a relaxed and joyful atmosphere.
