Everyone always raves about Golden Hour for your family photos – me included unless we are indoors! But, did you know that there are 2 Golden Hours? Yep, you read that right – TWO! While we commonly immediately think SUNSET for Golden Hour, Sunrise is also a magical time too! In fact, as we head into the busy fall and holiday season, Sunrise might just be the perfect fit for your family! Don’t believe me? Let’s check out these 6 reasons to consider a Sunrise Family session in Fort Worth instead of a Sunset one!
Sunrise is early enough to have an hour or so session completed, grab some breakfast & coffee, and STILL get the kids, yourself, and your partner to work on time! No need to change the rest of your schedule too drastically in order to fit that family session in! Instead, head to bed a little early the night before (who doesn’t love a reason to do that?), and put the kids to bed a little early the night of too (again, a win-win-win!). Now, this isn’t that an earlier morning isn’t tough sometimes, but it is so worth it. You get to have some long lasting memories, a legacy for your children as they grow older (and future generations), and tangible objects to remember that ONE time you got up early and had a BALL!
Texas is H-O-T this summer. No denying it. But the coolest part of the day is not in the evening when it is still over 100 degrees sometimes, it is in the morning! And, I’m not just talking about a few degrees – usually the difference is about 20 degrees on average. So, would you rather be outside in a gorgeous “Golden Hour” in 102 degrees or 80? It’s seriously the greatest hack that I’ve ever come across in Texas. So, moral of the story? If you want to have a session with less sweat, then consider doing a Sunrise Family Session in Fort Worth Texas instead!
I’ve got 2 good reasons for this one! First of all, you already get ready at the beginning of the day anyway – why not get your picture-perfect look photographed before the stresses of the entire day? You can do your make-up and hair at the beginning of the day and then go about your day looking fine as H-E-double-hockey-sticks!! (Yes, I said it!)
And second, I know how much time and effort it can take to get ready for a photoshoot, but if you do it in the morning, the kiddos are still asleep! You can just focus and knock it out really quickly before getting the kids up to get them ready. Then, once you’re done with your photoshoot, ya’ll are all ready for some coffee, breakfast, and then the rest of your day!
When you are chasing the light at sunrise, you don’t have a whole lot of other people doing the same thing. So, usually, even the busiest of locations are basically empty! It’s one of the reasons that all those traveling influencers that you follow get all those amazing photos in the busiest of tourist locations! They wake up before the sun and plan to be there before the crowds.
It might seem insignificant, but when you only have a split second to snap a photo of your child laughing (when it hasn’t exactly been a cakewalk) and a person is just photobombing in the background or a dog is doing it’s business, it can take the wind out of your sails.
So when you can wake up before the birds start singing, then you get the best of it all with a Sunrise Session in Fort Worth.
“This may be all well and good” you say, “but I still have a few hang ups. One, I don’t want to get up that early…”
Mama!! I totally hear ya – I am NOT a morning person and haven’t been since I was like 6 years old. You’ll probably see me with a 5 gallon bucket of coffee before we start.
“And, secondly,” you say, “I don’t want to wake up that early!”
I hear ya…again.
Sometimes, it’s the worst, BUT if you have kids, this might be your best option, especially if you REALLY want those golden rays in your photos.
Because before Daylight Savings Time hits in November, we are looking at 8:00-8:30PM sunset times…which, I totally know from experience, interferes with the bedtime routine. (Ask me how I know, lol)
So, the choice is yours. You can either stretch bedtime by an hour or two after a long day…or you can wake up early on a Saturday or weekday and knock it out of the park in one go!
One, you’ll have smiling kids. Two, you’ll have the rest of the day to do whatever you’d like – whether that be continue with your normal daily routine, OR perhaps even take a nap.
Now, before you jump down my throat and call me a liar…let me explain! Yes, you might have the normal grumbling and complaining about mom making us doing this session – I can’t necessarily stop that from happening. However, if you get the session done in the early AM, you don’t have to hear about it for the rest of the day! Imagine that – you get to just enjoy your day with zero remarks or stress surrounding an upcoming photo session that evening. Why? Because it ALREADY HAPPENED and you’re done! Now, doesn’t that sound nice? I sure think so!
So, there you have it! My top 5 reasons to get your booty out of bed early and have your family session at SUNRISE instead of Sunset! What are your thoughts?? Have I convinced you? Let me know below! OR click on the link to send me a message and we can chat about it!!
