Top 5 Places to Take Your Maternity and Family Pictures in 2024

Asking where to take your family or maternity pictures is the MOST asked question besides, “What should I wear?”. And, it should be! The location vibes play a huge part in how your photos will come out! So, I am going to share the top 5 places that are within the Fort Worth, Texas area that I’ve used to take your images that are sure to give you a great gallery!

1. Murrell Park in Flower Mound, Texas

Here you have your pick of fields, sandy shoreline, rocky coastline, and even heavy vegetation for the background in your next family, maternity, or newborn pictures! It is hands-down the most popular choice here in Fort Worth. But, that’s totally ok because this park is massive.

2. Tandy Hills Nature Reserve in Fort Worth, Texas

This is one unique spot because it is SO close to downtown Fort Worth, Texas that you can literally get the skyline in the background of your images IF you wanted. There are also huge fields of wildflowers here during the spring months! Such a great field-y place to take pictures for those who don’t want to drive too far from Fort Worth, Texas.

3. Fort Worth Water Gardens in Fort Worth, Texas

Another one of our great places to take pictures in Fort Worth – even if this one is a bit more urban, it is so unique. The Fort Worth Water Gardens is located within downtown Fort Worth, so you can use it as part of a wider scope of an urban family, maternity, or newborn outdoor session.

4. Fort Worth Botanic Gardens in Fort Worth, Texas

This one isn’t free, like the other locations that are mentioned here, but it is well worth the admission price. They have more gardens than the one pictured below, but this Japanese Garden is one of the ones that you have access to to take your pictures in the Fort Worth area.

5. Downtown Fort Worth

Downtown Fort Worth has a WIDE variety of locations, lots of instagrammable nooks and crannies within it’s borders. I would suggest that you start around the Sundance Square area and branch out from there. Other notable places to take pictures in Downtown Fort Worth are Inspiration Alley and Gemelle. Explore to your heart’s content!

BONUS: 6. Fort Worth Stockyards in Fort Worth, Texas

And no list would be complete WITHOUT the Stockyards here in Fort Worth. Just walking through the place, you will find so many interesting places to take pictures. There are photo ops set up, but so many interesting backgrounds that I doubt you’ll even find time to use them!
